Meltdown SOS ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials (hashed passwords or OAuth tokens).

Child Profiles: Names, age ranges, behavioral challenges, and sensitivities you provide during onboarding. This data is used solely to personalize AI guidance.

Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, conversation metadata, and anonymous analytics via PostHog.

Device Data: Device type, operating system, push notification tokens, and language preferences.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide personalized parenting guidance via our AI system
To maintain conversation history and generate contextual advice
To send push notifications (daily check-ins, if opted in)
To improve our service through anonymous analytics
To authenticate your identity and secure your account

3. AI-Generated Content

Meltdown SOS uses OpenAI's language models to generate parenting guidance. Your messages and child profile data are sent to OpenAI for processing. We do not use your data to train AI models. AI responses are not medical advice and should not replace professional consultation.

4. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security policies
Authentication tokens are stored in device secure storage (Keychain/Keystore)
All data transmission uses TLS encryption
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase — Authentication and database
OpenAI — AI text generation
OneSignal — Push notifications
PostHog — Anonymous analytics
Vercel — API hosting
Resend — Transactional email

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Conversation data older than 12 months may be automatically summarized and original messages deleted. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app.

7. Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of your personal data
Correction: Update or correct your information
Deletion: Delete your account and all data via the app settings or our account deletion page
Portability: Request your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

Meltdown SOS is designed for parents and caregivers, not for use by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Child profile data is provided by parents and used solely to personalize parenting guidance.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.
